Newcastle College Apprenticeship Awards 2019

Our Very Own Jean Tams was awarded both the Personal Achievement Award and Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Award 2019 at St. James’ Park on Thursday 7th March.

Jean said;

"I am over the moon to be nominated for this award. When my skills trainer told me I had been shortlisted for the award I was shocked, humbled but also delighted! It is an honour to be nominated for the Apprentice of the Year Award. The opportunities and experience I have been given during my apprenticeship isn’t something that you come across every day. I have been to the Houses of Parliament, I went to France helping out at the charity’s Annual Veterans Retreat and I am looking forward to going to America later this year with the Women Veterans Team.

I don’t know who is happier, me, the Team at Forward Assist or my mother who is so proud of me! I feel so privileged to be where I am today, and I wouldn’t have done it without the support of my colleagues, and my skills trainer, Amanda Davis-Stephens, from Newcastle College."
