Forward Assist believe in getting veterans 'out and about' in the  Great Outdoors and the positive effects it can have on veterans mental health and physical well-being.

Over the course of any given the year we team up with experts in their field and give the veterans the opportunity to carry out a wide range of outdoor activities including:

  • Hill walking

  • Climbing

  • Cycling

  • Gyhll scrambling

  • Mountaineering

  • Navigation 

  • Coasteering

  • Canoeing

Veterans work together and develop their skills in these areas. They also have the opportunity to volunteer with the organisations we commission if they are interested in exploring career opportunities in the great outdoors.

We have found that this type of activity is a wonderful way to reduce social isolation, reduce stress and improve general health and mental wellbeing.
