Forward Assist truly believe in the Great Outdoors and the positive effects it can have on our veterans mental and physical wellbeing.

Over the course of the year we team up with experts in their field and give the veterans the opportunity to carry out a wide range of outdoor activities including:

  • Hill walking
  • Climbing

  • Cycling

  • Gyhll scrambling

  • Mountaineering

  • Navigation 

  • Coasteering

  • Canoeing

Veterans work together and develop their skills in these areas. They also have the opportunity to volunteer with the organisations for those who are interested in this area as a career, giving them a great insight into what it entails.

We have found that this type of activity is a wonderful way to reduce social isolation, reduce stress and improve general wellbeing.
