Pennine Way Challenge 2018

In 2017 Forward Assist raised funds to send one of our female veterans, Sarah, to a life-changing 'Post Traumatic Growth' residential programme in Boulder Crest Retreat, Virginia, USA. Previous to her trip to America, Sarah had tried every possible treatment available in the UK in order to receive help with her PTSD and other issues she had been suffering from since returning to civilian life, but had no success in finding anything that helped her with her issues.

On her return Sarah said:

“It gave an insight into how much better my life could be. My pain reduced massively and I now know I’m capable of that. It helps you come to terms with things that you might have been hiding even from yourself. Boulder Crest provides you with a set of practices that you keep doing after the course to help you maintain that.”

This year we are aiming to raise £5000 to send more UK veterans to Boulder Crest Retreat to take part in this once in a life time experience.

As more support is needed, a bigger challenge is needed to help reach our target…

To raise this funding, Forward Assist’s Jon Clapham, will be taking on the Pennine Way Challenge, walking over 17 days and covering 265 miles. He will be joined by volunteers and members of staff from Forward Assist to help him complete the challenge.

We need your help to sponsor or walk with Jon, to enable more veterans to experience such an amazing opportunity. To join him on his journey please get in touch through our website www.forward-assist.com/contact/
