Forward Assist delivered an arts project in partnership with Helen McArdle Care Homes and Tees Valley Arts. The project enabled the armed forces veterans in the Care home to reminisce and regale each other of their exploits and time spent in the armed forces. This month began with Boxing for the Brave, a white collar fundraiser for Forward Assist in partnership with Sunderland AFC’s Foundation of Light. A team of 19 competitors, 6 of those veterans, completed 12-weeks arduous fitness and boxing training under the tuition of Sunderland amateur boxing legend, Karl Duke, to prepare them for the main event at the Rainton Meadows Arena on Friday 6 May... more
